Born Cambridge\, England\, in January 1980; played bass guitar since 1994; studied with Hugh Boyd and Pascha Milner and at Basstech (London) with Rob Burns\, Terry Gregory and others. Played double bass since 2001; basically self taught\, with grateful thanks to Simon H. Fell. Received MA Composition from Oxford Brookes University in 2003\, having studied with Paul Whitty\, Ray Lee and others. Received PhD from Brunel University in 2010\, having studied the work of Derek Bailey\, Helmut Lachenmann and JH Prynne and been supervised by Richard Barrett and John Croft. | www.dominiclash.co.uk/ \nPaul Lytton. Began on drums at age 16. He played jazz in London in the late 1960s while taking lessons on the tabla from P.R. Desai. In 1969 he began experimenting with free improvisational music\, working in a duo with saxophonist Evan Parker. After adding bassist Barry Guy\, the ensemble became the Evan Parker Trio. He and Parker continued to work together into the 2000s; more recent releases include trio releases with Marilyn Crispell in 1996 (Natives and Aliens) and 1999 (After Appleby). | en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Lyt… \nPaul Hubweber’s „masterful control of any timbral aspect of the instrument guarantees music that transcends the trombone itself to become a soulful expression\, a creature that continually moves and modifies its forms\, appearing and disappearing just like a ghost.“ (Massimo Ricci) | hubweber.eu \n„90 percent of all musics in the world are improvised. Only our western music culture has this strange system of notating music. Maybe this was the reason\, why tonality and harmony developed.“ Jean Martin
