Ian Fisher & Town of Saints (solo)

28. Januar 2012 19:00

Ian Fisher grew up in a forgotten little American town stuck between the shoulder of Highway 61 and the banks of the Mississippi River. Listen and you’ll hear the rhythm of those wore-out pickup trucks beating the tired concrete in his words as the shameless power of his voice, like the undertow of that muddy water, drowns you in his songs.

Ian Fisher

– has written over 1,000 songs

– has released 6 albums & is working on 4 at the moment

– has played nearly 500 concerts all over the US & Europe

– influenced by Bob Dylan, Gillian Welch, & Leonard Cohen

– currently lives in Berlin, Germany as a professional musician

Town of Saints is an energetic alternative folk band from the Netherlands (Groningen). With traditional folk influences and more than enough punk attitude, they’ve impressed ecstatic audiences all over Europe!

The band usually consists of singer/guitarist Harmen Ridderbos (NL) and fiddle player Heta Salkolahti (FIN), but for this year’s solo tour Harmen is going to play on his own, sometimes joined by a guest bass and/or mandolin player.

Town of Saints started out as a street folk/busking band (Stain on Teflon) in the summer of 2010, touring the streets of many major European cities. After the summer on the street, the band started touring and headlining small festivals all over Great Britain, Ireland, Germany and even Slovenia. Through this Town of Saints transformed into a real live band that means business, a band you just have to watch!

The band is known for their heartfelt songs, infectious melodies and animated performances. The sheer joy Town of Saints effortlessly exude on stage never fails to get the audience on their feet.
